Why We Delay Live Updates

The transmission of real-time sports data — including live scores and game statistics — is subject to intellectual property protections under United States law. Various patents and licensing frameworks govern how real-time sports data may be transmitted, received, and redistributed over electronic networks.

As a matter of standard practice and legal compliance, Striiver batches and delays the delivery of live game updates to third-party viewers. This delay is intentional, consistent, and applied uniformly across all live game sharing features on the platform.

How It Works

When a coach tracks a live game using Striiver's game stat tools, data entered by the coach is stored securely on our servers. Rather than transmitting this data to public viewers immediately upon entry, Striiver introduces a standardized delay before the data becomes visible on any publicly shared game page.

Shared game pages refresh automatically at regular intervals, and each refresh reflects data that was recorded prior to the current delay window. The delay window is applied consistently regardless of the sport, team, or viewing device.

What This Means for Viewers

Parents, fans, and other viewers accessing a shared Striiver game link will see score and stat updates that may not reflect the absolute current state of the game. Updates are delivered on a delayed basis as described above.

Full, complete game data — including the final box score and all player statistics — is available immediately once a game is marked as final by the coaching staff.

Post-Game Data

Once a game is finalized, all data associated with that game — including the complete box score, player statistics, and game summary — is made available without delay. Shareable post-game report links provide full access to final game data and are not subject to the live data delay policy.
